The Challenge
Nadia and Prabakar came to us as a referral from one of our most long-term clients. Nadia, the daughter of a pastry chef, had managed to generate quite a following on YouTube with her how to videos on baking desserts. But how do you turn YouTube subscribers into customers?
Our objectives were to create a logo that represents the focus of the company that was simple and suitable to use as a product brand in the future. From there, make a website that was feminine and encourages users to sign up for a free membership in order to fully access all areas of the website. The site's primary focus is to showcase Nadia's YouTube videos and encourage free membership signups as well as newsletter signups.
The Solution
The first step was creating a logo that incorporated an apron. We went with a balance of the heavy brown font outlined in a very feminine pink - almost like frosting on a cake.
From there, we were able to take the basic color scheme developed in the logo to bring a WordPress installation to life. With the help of the S2 Membership plug-in we were able to provide the membership option they needed to start converting those YouTube subscribers into customers. Step one... build a list.
The site is totally focused around her YouTube videos and just like on YouTube, viewers can see Nadia in action and hear her give a recipe and explain how to make it, but in order to get fully typed recipes, you have to go register as a free member. This site has allowed her to grow a list of truly interested members and newsletter subscribers that she can now market to on a regular basis.
